More than 150 participants from all over Belarus gathered in the framework of the Forum of representatives of the network of “green schools”. As part of the event, 40 educational institutions in a festive atmosphere received diplomas of I, II and III degrees on awarding the status of “green school”, rewarding of students and teachers — winners of the national contest of environmental projects “Green School”.
Also, the opening of scientific and experimental laboratories for monitoring atmospheric air and the study of environmental technologies created on the basis of the RCEC in the framework of the project «Eco-Monitoring», funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP.
The Republican Center for Ecology and Local History presented its experience of the national resource center for the implementation of the educational project «Green Schools». Worked sections and scientific and practical sites for teachers, passed laboratory workshops for students.

More than 70 preschool education specialists from all over Belarus gathered for a training seminar on the implementation of the Green Schools educational project in the Republic of Belarus.
The seminar participants learned about the trends in the development of environmental education for preschool children in the Republic of Belarus, received methodological recommendations for organizing the implementation and implementation of the Green Schools project on the basis of preschool education institutions, and familiarized themselves with the training manual for teachers “The Green Schools Project” in preschool education institutions. ” Also, as part of the event, an educational program for advanced training of teachers on the implementation of the educational project «Green Schools» was presented.
GUO «Nursery — kindergarten No. 137 of Minsk» presented its experience to the participants of the first model institution of preschool education for the implementation of the educational project «Green Schools», a. «Day nursery garden World ”and spoke about the initial stage of the project.
Interactive classes on five areas of «green schools» were held.
The training seminar was organized jointly with the Main Department of Education of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee with the support of the EU-funded project, implemented by UNDP in Belarus in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
On December 6, 2019, more than 50 representatives of resource centers and environmental monitoring clubs from all over Belarus took part in a training seminar on organizing the activities of resource centers and environmental monitoring clubs.
During the seminar, the project manager Olga Mikhailovna Chabrovskaya spoke about the goals and objectives of the Project “Involving the public in environmental monitoring and improving environmental management at the local level”, as well as the mechanism for implementing this international project. The project communication specialist, Ekaterina Mikhadyuk, shared with the participants the requirements and nuances of the information and communication activities of resource centers and environmental monitoring clubs.

Further, the participants worked in groups, a panel discussion was held on the theme “The role of regional resource centers for green schools” and environmental monitoring clubs in expanding the network of “green schools” in the Republic of Belarus and in the organization of interaction between educational institutions, local authorities, public organizations implementing activities in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources. ” The discussion was moderated by a project specialist, Irina Romualdovna Klevets
Seven training seminars were held in Minsk and the regions of Belarus in November-December 2019. Teachers of the pilot sites implementing the Green Schools educational project aimed at environmental education were trained to work with modern equipment for measuring environmental parameters and monitoring atmospheric air.
18 semi-professional weather stations, as well as precipitation collectors, snow gauges, conductometers, PH meters and gas analyzers in full have been purchased and received by pilot sites on the basis of educational institutions that implement the Green Schools educational project aimed at the environmental education of students.
Within the framework of the seminars, the specialists of Belhydromet and the project “Eco-monitoring” trained representatives of “green schools” in education to work with these devices, and also showed how to enter the data into the electronic observation diary on a specially created online platform that will work from January 2020.
Members of environmental monitoring clubs, as well as national and regional centers for “green schools” will be able to make accurate measurements of environmental parameters and air quality using the equipment received and enter their observations in an electronic diary. This will increase the awareness of youth and society as a whole about environmental issues, teach children how to work with data and analyze them, strengthen responsible and informed attitude to the environment, and become a starting point for involving the public in solving environmental issues.
In addition, a series of workshops on other aspects of the Green Schools educational course took place as part of the seminars.
